It didn’t start out so well as somehow our limo reservations got cancelled. Sallyanne called to tell us that the limo was at her house to pick up her and Chuck. We waited and waited but no limos for us. We called Emirates and were told that our reservations had been cancelled yesterday. They offered to send a limo now but that would have gotten us to the airport only an hour before our plane left. Thank goodness Jude and Don have wonderful friends who drove us to the airport. Rosemarie’s attempt to get us bumped up to first class didn’t work because they had no room.
All is well when when we enter the plane and they escort us to our “seats” and we are given glasses of Moët champagne. Each seat is approximately 3 1/2 x 7 feet and has it’s own television and refrigerator. No need to ask the flight attendant for bottled water because you just get it out of your refrigerator. Next they come around with the goodie bags that look like evening bags. They were filled with Bvlgari perfumes and lotions, toothbrush and paste, sleep mask, compression socks, a hair brush and powder compact. After we are airborne they made up our reclining seats with a mattress, blankets and pillows. We were then given menus and both Rosemarie and I ordered grilled lobster tails. They placed a tablecloth on our tray table and presented us with a high end restaurant meal.
The very best thing is that we have phones in our cubicles so we can call each other and there are fresh orchids in the bathroom.
Going through customs was very strange. No one spoke to us. No one asked why we were here or how long. They looked at our passbooks but not us and just pointed toward the exit. Easy peasy. The limos were here this time to take us to our hotel.
