I was up at 5 AM this morning, thinking it was 6 AM. On the first day of Ramadan they set the clocks back an hour. No one told my I Phone so I was at breakfast an hour early. A sweet waiter gave me a cup of coffee and I went out to the gardens with the peacocks and roosters. I now have my I Phone set for Iceland so I have the correct time.

After breakfast we drove to see the Royal Palace. The current king is Mohammed VI and is married to a “commoner.” Since his reign began in 1999 the country has become more inclusive of the people and has given women more rights when it comes to divorce and inheritance. Here is a picture of the Royal Palace but the King doesn’t live there. Apparently he lives on a ranch.

We continued on to the old city and a fortress built in the 12th century.

We ended the morning at a restaurant on the water. Beautiful views and food.

I saw this car, a Lamborghini, and sent a picture home to Braydon. Yes, I can send it home and he doesn’t care if it is pink.

Tomorrow we are off to Fes where we will be stopping at a Roman city dating back to AD 270. This is also a UNESCO Heritage Site and is called Volubilis.
