There are medinas in all cities. They usually date from the 12 to 14th centuries and are always behind walls. Our guide usually hired a helper on those days because it is difficult to keep track of 14 people, especially women. Here are some of the more interesting sites. Normally they are more crowded in the morning but it is Ramadan and people tend to sleep later because they can’t eat of drink from sunup to sundown.
