A very important part of this tour, in addition to the history of the area, is to teach you how the locals live. In that spirit we went to the home of Layla and her daughter who live in an apartment on the outskirts of Marrakesh for dinner.

Our meal began with bowls and bowls of Moroccan salads and vegetables along with homemade bread.

Next was a wonderful chicken dish made with carmelized onions and a vegetable stuffed pie for the vegetarians. This was followed by fresh fruit and cookies.

After dinner Khalid asked if we wanted to try on a traditional djellaba. I jumped at the chance.
