It is just my luck that I am suppose to leave for Iceland on Wednesday, just when hurricane Ivan is due to arrive. So my original plan was to change my Wednesday flight to Newark to Tuesday and spend the night in Newark until my flight takes off on Wednesday night. My traveling companion, Peggy, is spending the summer in Philadelphia with her husband, and she suggested I fly to Philadelphia and we both take the train to Newark airport on Wednesday afternoon. This all sounded so simple. Nothing is ever simple with travel. No problem making a reservation on Frontier to go to Philadelphia on Wednesday. The problem came when I tried to cancel my flight on Spirit from Orlando to Newark. Apparently you can’t just do that online like you can with Southwest. I clicked on the “Contact Us” button put in all the information and what I wanted to do and was told no problem but the wait will be 2 hours and 40 minutes before you can speak with an agent! I am very good at multitasking but this was a little ridiculous. After an hour I was sick of waiting so I looked up Spirit’s telephone number online and got through in 1 minute. Problem solved. Now comes the fun part. How do I fit all my winter attire plus a bathing suit for the Blue Lagoon in a little carry on?

Whatever you do, you MUST bring two bathing suits! The Blue Lagoon was one of the coolest places I’ve ever visited! And the ‘hot pots’ all over Reykjavik city are a very definite MUST as well! Have a wonderful time! I ❤️ Iceland!
