The smartest thing I ever did was to leave Orlando a day early because I never would have gotten out of the airport on Wednesday if I had waited. The airport was a zoo because Disney just closed down but my flight went off early. I havenβt been anywhere near Philadelphia since the early 90βs when I used to wholesale my art work at the Valley Forge Convention Center. A lot has changed and nothing has changed. Historic cities are like that. Peggy and her husband have been renting a condo in Center City for the last 6 months. To say this building is gorgeous does not even begin to describe it. The restoration of this building to itβs original splendor is mind boggling.

This morning Peggy took me on a walking tour of historic Philadelphia. Almost 10,000 steps later, I think we hit all the high points.

During our walk I saw the Liberty Bell along with Benjamin Franklinβs grave. Such a great walkable city. One of the highlights was ElfrethβsAlley that is filled with restored row houses built between 1720 and 1830. They sell for $5 million each. My next summer home.

We finish our walk at the Reading Terminal Market that is basically a food court on steroids. Peggy and I split a Philly cheese steak. Yes, you read that correctly. The vegan ate meat and loved every minute of it!
At 3:00 pm we leave to take the train to the Newark Airport. The plane leaves at 8:30 tonight for Iceland. The time difference is 4 hours. When we arrive in the morning the tour starts immediately, with no down time. Reykjavik here we come!
