Trani is a seaport on the Adriatic Sea. One thing I can say about Trani is that if you have a poor sense of direction do not visit here. Our first night here we were following another couple back to the hotel from the seaport and we lost them. They ended up calling Nino to rescue them and after they were safe he came and found us. If not we probably would still be there looking for our hotel. All the alleys look alike and google maps did not work. Even though I have a great sense of direction a couple times I was faking it as I led the group back to the hotel.

The waterfront in Trani was beautiful. It was filled with fishing boats and at the end of the day, fisherman selling their wares.

There were also great restaurants and great views from the restaurants. One night we were strolling along the waterfront and Georgio Armani was sponsoring an event in one of the restaurants. Talk about beautiful people in beautiful clothes! And the cars! It was fun to at least look at how the elite live.

We left Trani for a road trip to a local winery that produces both wine and olive oil. I have been to lots of wineries living near the Finger Lakes in New York and having traveled to Napa Valley in California several times. Let me tell you that this winery was the real deal!

This vineyard has been in business since 1770 and is currently owned by a Count. It is run by 200 employees and they bottle 3000 bottles an hour. Yes, you read that right. Harvest starts in August and ends in October. They bottle white, rose and red.

The pictures of their wine cellars were not to be believed.

Teri being Teri!

After being underground for a long period of time we were happy to walk around the beautiful grounds in the sunshine.

Beautiful flowers every where.

We moved inside for the olive oil and wine tasting plus a fabulous buffet lunch.

The wine was good but not good enough that I bought any. The next winery was completely different.

Back to Trani where we had to visit another church and eat and drink more. We also took a walk out to a light house so we could reach our 7 miles a day.

Dinner at the waterfront.

A selfie at the end of the pier. This one took only 1 try. The last one took 10 tries go get everyone’s heads in the picture.
A special photo with a very special friend.

Tomorrow is our last day in Trani and our last day with Nico. I know we all wish that this trip could last forever.
