What is a new city without a city tour. I will admit that they are all starting to look and sound alike.

Wonderful lunch of beet pierogi, Strapacky (stewed sauerkraut) and Halusky (noodles with goat cheese).
Andy rubbing the head of the sewer worker for good luck!

For the evening many of us in the group signed up for an optional tour that included going to a famous potter, painting in the blue and white Slovakian style and a wine tasting. My kind of tour.

The artist’s name was Ignacio Bizmayer. Most of his work was of Slovakian folk environments. His detail was exquisite.

The art class was taught by Mr. Bizmayer’s daughter who is an accomplished artist herself.

We all painted a bag in the traditional Slovakian style in blue and white.

Janice was very intent on her painting.
My finished product. It was a fun project and everyone’s looked completely different. I bought 2 gorgeous hand painted silk scarves from the artist.

Next on to the wine tasting.

Wine and food. What more could you ask for!
This obviously was the vegan version of the wine tasting food. Just as tasty. The wines were wonderful and many of them were gold medal winners. This was a small family owned winery run by a husband and wife and their 2 children. If we didn’t have to get back because our bus driver was “on the clock” I think the owner would have kept opening more bottles of wine.

Tomorrow on to our last stop of the tour, Budapest.
