I have been looking forward to this day for a very long time. Three years ago when I was on this trip to Kenya and Tanzania we all fell in love with our guide Wilbard Peter (AKA Willie). When I booked this trip again two years ago it was with the stipulation that Willie be our guide. Unfortunately that did not work out and we were assigned an equally wonderful guide, Josh Gilisho. Josh knew that I was upset about not having Willie as our guide so he arranged for me to meet Willie in the bush airport in Maasai Mara. We were arriving just as Willie was leaving the Maasai Mara on another tour. The minute our plane landed I ran from the plane. All the girls thought I was running to the bathroom, but no, I was running to Willie! We hugged forever and I told him the hug was also from Laura and Therese (and probably Andy). We chatted, had our pictures taken and off he flew to the next stop with his tour. It is a moment I never will forget or will I ever forget what Josh did to arrange this.

I will be calling Willie tonight to tell him that we saw 4 of the Big Five within 1 hour. The only one we are missing is the lion and that will definitely happen tomorrow. We saw the leopard and the elephant at the same place. Immediately after, we saw a black rhino up close and personal. In my three safaris I have never seen a rhino other than a black speck in a pair of binoculars.
