The day started very early this morning because Josh wanted us to see the sunrise. That meant being dressed and having breakfast to be on a road at 6:30 AM. That might not mean anything in the real world but when you are on safari you are going almost 24/7. All night long you hear animal sounds that cut into your sleep and you are so exhausted from bouncing around a jeep. But you all know that I absolutely love this life. BTW – the sun rise was worth it.

Today our first sighting was two hippos in a tiny pond. We almost missed it because we were looking at something else, probably thousands of wildebeests or maybe a lion.

It was a very busy wildlife day in the Mara. Another lion sighting.

The next video is my 3rd Nat Geo moment of my life. It will always pure luck when you see something like this. The first video is of a male ostrich doing a mating dance. The second video is the male doing his thing while the female ostrich continues eating grass.

The next photo is just a random sighting where an ostrich is sitting on the eggs. She lays approximately 40 eggs and sits on them all day while the male is out doing his thing. He returns at night so she can go out and hunt for food. Nice life.

This morning we had tea and pee on top of a huge black rock that is the den of a pride of lions named “Black Rock.” Very original. Of course we had to have some pictures taken and a jumping contest between Braydon and Josh. In the Maasai culture the women find men who can jump very attractive. Since Braydon appears to be looking for women he is trying to beat Josh.

Our last game drive in the Maasai Mara included another rhino sighting but only the rear end.

And what would be a trip to Kenya without seeing thousands of wildebeests.

A beautiful pair of elephants for an end of a perfect time exploring this part of Kenya. Tomorrow we move to Amboselli National Park and the home of Mt. Kilimanjaro.
